The Okpara-Waterside Elders Council and the leadership of the Women, Ethiope East local government area of Delta state, at the weekend, presented a Meritorious Award and Chieftaincy title on the Chairperson, Zone 5, Police Communities’ Relation Committee (PCRC) and former Executive Assistant to Gov Ifeanyi Okowa on Police Relations, Chief (Mrs.) Odet Majemite-Eghwrujakpor (aka Bravo) in recognition of her contributions to the community.
Presenting the award, the Spokesman of Okpara Waterside Community, Chief Friday Idjagboro, on behalf of the Elders, Leaders and Youths of the Community explained that their daughter, Chief Odet Eghwrujakpor has done so much for them in the areas of security and also assisting her people through humanitarian services.
The leadership of the Okpara Waterside Elders Council, Chief Friday Idjagboro further charged the awardee to continue with her philanthropic work in the area, saying that Deltans and Nigeria in general are aware of her benevolent nation and pray that God continue to keep her safe for a greater work and upliftment.
In her response, Chief Mrs. Odet Majemite-Eghwrujakpor aka Bravo expressed joy for the honour done to her, saying that she never knew they were observing the little she has been rendering to her people, which according to her has been part of her from birth.
Speaking further, She said, “I feel elated, very happy receiving this meritorious award and the chieftaincy title from my people because it is a rare privilege, and you can see how the award coincided with my birthday month. I never knew people were watching the little l have been doing for them. And I thank those who initiated this award.
“In fact, it was a double celebration as the Women folk (Ewheya) of Okpara Waterside Community also conferred on me the title of ‘Ohovwore Re’Ewheya of Okpara Waterside. I am happy and I thank the Women (Ewheya) for the honour. I pray that God keeps me stronger and takes me to higher ground so I can continue to touch more lives.
“I will continue to do more for my people. By the grace of God with more strength, wisdom and long life to do more for our people.there are still more to do for our people”.
Highlights of the ceremony was the presentation of a Meritorious Award by Chief Friday Idjagboro, the Otota of Okpara-Waterside Community and the conferment of Women’s title as the Ohovwore re’ Ewheya of Okpara Waterside Community by Chief (Mrs.) Rose Emakpor.
