With 566 new cases, Nigeria’s Covid-19 tally tops 25,000

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) Monday night reported 566 fresh cases of Covid-19 with Nigeria now having 25,133 cases since the first index case was reported in March.

573 Covid-19 related deaths have been recorded with 9,404 patients discharged after successful treatment.

Lagos state remains the epi- centre with 10,310 cases, followed by FCT and Oyo with 1,818 and 1,372 cases respectively.

Kano 1,211 and Rivers 1,056 cases are also having rising cases.

Edo with 986 and Delta with 965 are emerging as new areas of concern.

A breakdown of the new 566 cases showed Lagos with 166, Oyo-66, Delta-53, Ebonyi-43, Plateau-34, Ondo-32, FCT-26, Ogun-25, Edo-24, Imo-15, Bayelsa-13, Benue-12, Gombe-11 and Kano-11.

Others are Kaduna-11, Osun-8, Nasarawa-7, Borno-5, Katsina-2
and Anambra-2.
