Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has been appointed the Edo State Governorship Election National Campaign Council Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Incumbent Governor Godwin Obaseki, who recently defected to the PDP from the All Progressives Congress (APC), is seeking reelection later this year.
Wike is to be assisted in the campaign team duties by Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, as the deputy chairman.
The appointments were made on Friday by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP.
Details of the campaign council are expected to be unveiled soon.
