The Director-General of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Mojisola Adeyeye, has warned that her agency has not given approval for any drug to be used as cure or vaccine for Covid-19.
She gave the warning on Friday in a terse statement, in which she expressed concern over the rising reports of claims about drugs used as vaccine or for the outright cure of Covid-19 in the country.
According to her: “The agency is concerned about reports on social and other media of drugs or vaccines to cure COVID 19.
“The agency has not granted any approvals to any products for use as a cure or vaccine against COVID 19.
“The public is advised to comply with measures issued by the NCDC to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
“These include use of face coverings/masks in addition to social distancing, washing of hands and use of alcohol-based sanitizers.”
