Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State has announced his first appointments, naming Chief Cosmas Iwu, younger brother to former Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Maurice Iwu, as the new Secretary to the State Government (SSG)
Cosmas Iwu had served as pioneer Secretary to Imo State Government to former Governor, Dr. Ikedi Ohakim in 2007 to 2010.
Former State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Nnamdi Anyaehie, has also been appointed as Chief of Staff to the Governor.
He left PDP after the contentions state congress that almost disintegrated the party in the state
Barrister Cyprian Akaolisa was named the State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice. He had served as legal Adviser to Imo State PDP.
Mr. Oguike Nwachukwu was named the Chief Press Secretary to Governor. Until his new appointment, he was the Executive Editor of the Niche Newspaper, published in Lagos.
Nwachukwu who hails from Ahiazu Mbaise had ealier served as Sunday Editor in Daily Independent newspaper, Lagos.
All the appointments take immediate effect.
