Two suspected cases of Coronavirus have been isolated at the General Hospital, in Nasarawa State.
The first suspect is from Rinze in Akwanga local government area of the state, while the other is from an unknown destination.
A source at the Akwanga General Hospital said that the first suspect was brought in on Thursday, while the second suspect was brought in yesterday morning.
The second suspect, a lady who hailed from Ibadan, allegedly escaped from an isolation centre at Abuja and headed to Nasarawa.
A source who confided in our correspondent said that “I received a call from top security officers in Abuja that they tracked the contact of a lady who escaped isolation from Abuja, to Akwanga.
“Immediately I got the call, I swung into action by calling my people in Kurmin Tagwaye-Akwanga and they traced the lady in a house” the source said.
The lady was picked at the house of one Deacon Moses, behind ERCC Church, Kurmin Tagwaye along Wamba road in Akwanga and taken to the isolation centre at the General Hospital.
Nasarawa State is yet to record an index case of Corona Virus (COVID-19).interestingly,the efforts of the state government to preventing the disease into the state has been on top gear.
ExpressDay reports that some persons who were returnees from Lagos and Kano that were allegedly taken into the complex of the Isa Mustapha Agwai Polytechnic, Lafia for quarantine have been lamenting over lack of care and provision of food running into the third day now.
However, the Commissioner for Health, Pharmacist Ahmed Yahya, confirmed that the suspected cases were still being investigated.
