Police in Delta State have arrested two suspects in connection with the disappearance of a seven-year old girl simply identified as Ebrovwiyor Lina.

She was reported missing in Isiokolo, the headquarters of Ethiope East LGA, of Delta State.

The suspects were identified as Ogaga Better and Miss Ufine Iboyi.

A source in the community who did not wish to be named, narrated that “on the 22nd day of June 2020, we were with Lina in our compound but suddenly the little girl disappeared to our suprise. We were thinking it is a child’s play but to our surprise we did not find Lina. We, however, raised alarm that attracted the neighbouring people in the nearby compound”.

According to the source, “one of the suspects has been coming to our compound from time to time saying she will one day make, money by using human being and we were thinking that she was joking but now she has practicalised it”

“The matter was reported to Isiokolo community vigilante group, quickly the vigilante swung into action and she was arrested by the group and handed her over to the Police in Isiokolo division but she deny for the first time and after much beating by the police she therefore, confess that she was the one that took the girl to the other suspect for sale”.

However, as at the time of this report, the whereabouts of the missing girl is yet to be known but police investigation is ongoing to ensure that the girl is rescued.

The Chairman of Ethiope East Council, Mrs. Faith Majemite however, condemned the act, describing it as inhuman.

When contacted, the Delta Sate Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO), Onome Onowakpoyeya, confirmed the incident adding that effort is on top gear to find the missing girl.
