The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva has backed state owned oil company, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) to succeed in the Nigerian lubricant market.

NNPC had in November last year unveiled a range of lubricants and after a series of successful field tests, the launched products are now set to hit the marketplace, nationwide.

Speaking at the launch of the various range of the lubricants in Abuja on Friday, Sylva affirmed that the new direction for the product owner, NNPC Retail Limited, signals the beginning of great things expected from the NNPC for the benefit of all Nigerians and other stakeholders.

He expressed optimism that the high-performance Nitro and Rhino range of NNPC lubricants will fulfill the market penetration aspiration(s) and will indeed be a trusted brand for consumers.

Also speaking at the event, Group Managing Director of NNPC, Mallam Mele Kyari, urged Nigerians to embrace the Nitro and Rhino range of engine oils as they were specially designed to meet the needs of Nigerian motorists.

He certified the quality of the products, adding: “They are not in competition with any product, they are a replacement for any other product in the market”.
