The suspended Chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abdulrasheed Bawa, is now in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS).
This was confirmed by the DSS in a short press statement on Wednesday night, issued by Peter Afunanya, Public Relations Officer of the Service.
The secret police said it invited Bawa to its office in connection with “investigative activities concerning him”.
According to Afunaya: “The Department of State Services (DSS) has invited Mr Abdulrasheed Bawa, the suspended Chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Bawa arrived a few hours ago.
“The invitation relates to some investigative activities concerning him.”
This came shortly after Bawa was suspended from office by President Bola Tinubu over allegations of misconduct while in office.
