Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State says he is not too concerned about a second term in office, as he remains grateful to Allah who made him a Governor, even for a term.
He stated this during a media chat at the Government House, Lafia, to mark his administration’s one year in office.
He reiterated that his major concern was to develop the State for the benefit of all residents.
The Governor declared that even if he left office after the first four years, he would stay free from any anti-graft agency, stressing that he would continue to remain transparent and accountable in disbursing public funds.
“I am not bothered whether one term or whatever. I am grateful to Allah, at least, that I have served the state in the capacity of a Governor who will leave office without a record of embezzlement.
“Walahi talahi, I will be the happiest person, as that will also offer me the opportunity to travel out to America or Saudi Arabia to enjoy my life without any form of restrictions to what I should do and where not to go,” Governor Sule stated.
On his administration’s drive for industrialisation, the governor pointed out that the state was working hard in that direction, stressing that the fertilizer blending plant and the Akwanga Packaging Company have been reactivated and leased out to private investors who were on the verge of beginning operations before the Covid-19 outbreak.
According to him, the economic advisory committee set up earlier by his government is also working hard and the members have been connecting the State with multinational foreign investors.
Governor Sule noted that the revenue of the state had already picked up from between N300 and N500 million to about N1.5 billion by February this year, before the Covid-19 pandemic slowed it down.
