A three-month-old baby, Rukayya, who was raped two weeks ago by yet to be identified man, has undergone three surgeries but still in a critical condition at the hospital.
She was allegedly raped in Adogi town of Lafia East Development Area of Nasarawa State, by yet unidentified person.
Narrating her ordeal, the mother of the baby, Maimuna, disclosed that, before the wicked act, her daughter was taken away from her when she was asleep.
According to her, the three-month-old was later found abandoned with blood all around her genital.
The rape victim is currently at the Jos Teaching hospital where she is receiving treatment.
The mother of the victim, however, appealed to well-meaning Nigerians to help seek justice for her daughter and also assist in offsetting the medical bills.
Her uncle, Yusuf, confirmed that Rukayya was raped, but that no suspect has been arrested.
Yusuf also disclosed that the parents of Rukayya have no money to feed themselves or to pay for her surgeries.
“Three surgeries have already been performed on Rukayya but she still won’t be able to excrete.
“The Plateau state Teaching Hospital in Jos helped to perform the surgery without us depositing an amount,” Yusuf added.
Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Nasarawa State Command, Nansel Ramhan, said the police are yet to get the report.
