Prosperity Group thanks Buhari, Mark for Health Sciences varsity, Otupko
The Posterity Initiative for Fairness & Justice, a group of Otukpo indigenes, has thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for the recent appointment of a Vice-Chancellor for the Federal University of Health Sciences, Akwete–Akpa, Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State.
“We pray that God continues to strengthen him and grant him the wherewithal to sustain this positive impact on Nigerians”, said the group in a statement signed by its President Mr. Abba Adaudu.
The group also extended its gratitude to former President of the Senate, David Alechenu Bonadventure Mark, for clearly visualizing the University as yet another necessary national development project.
“At such a time as this when the world health sector has been brought to its knees by Covid–19 pandemic amongst other health challenges, Nigeria and the world at large is in dire need of medical experts/professionals to savage the situation, it was highly predictive of the visionary leader to pursue the establishment of this university. He saw tomorrow from yesterday.
“We are grateful to the Honourable Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu for withering the storm to sustain the struggle for the realization of this important University. This contribution to nation building is highly commendable. His thrust of influence was very instrumental to achieving the University for the good of the people of Nigeria.
“We are equally grateful to Senator Abba Moro, the Senator Representing Benue South Senatorial District for his enormous contribution and efforts toward giving legal backing to the University through the passage of the Bill for the establishment of the institution.
“We thank our very own Honourable Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Education, Dr. Sunny Echono, for his unwavering commitment that facilitated the realization of this landmark institution. His posting to the Federal Ministry of Education at this momentous time saw him deployed critical administrative intellect for the benefit of humanity.
“To our great leaders, Professor Ochapa Onazi, Professor John Idoko, Professor Francis Uba, and many others who worked tirelessly and behind the scene for the realization of the University, we are forever indebted and grateful to you all.
“Finally, we specially congratulate Professor Innocent Ujah, mni, the Vice Chancellor of the University and wish him divine protection, wisdom, good health and outstanding leadership acumen in the discharge of this pioneering responsibilities”, Adaudu added.
