Twenty-seven suspected criminals alleged to have terrorised some communities in Nasarawa State have been paraded by the police in the State.
Parading the suspects at the police command headquarters, in Lafia, the Commissioner of Police, Emmanuel Bola Longe, said that the Command has recorded some notable milestones in its efforts at making the security climate in the state conducive to law abiding citizens.
While parading the suspects on Monday, Bola Longe said that a gang of notorious armed robbers was nabbed along Lafia-Obi road, while another five who were always blocking the road at Akeleku village on Lafia-Makurdi road were also arrested.
“Consequently, suspects including Onrufa James of Ankpa village of Guma LGA of Benue State, Sunday Tezinnwe in Garaku of Kokona LGA, in Nasarawa state, Mercy Sendi and Grace Juma, have been arrested.
“Exhibits, including a bag containing one locally made pistol, one cartridge, 14 assorted cell phones, Sox Sim cards, knives and wrappers, were recovered from them,” he said.
The CP also disclosed that his command arrested suspected armed robbers and kidnappers at Agwada of Kokona LGA and seven other kidnappers at Loko in Nasarawa Local Government Area of the state.
He further explained that the command also arrested kidnappers of the Christian Association of Nigerian(CAN) chairman, Bishop Masin, who has since been rescued.
