The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command has arrested members of a 12-man gang who have terrorizing residents of Mpape, a suburb in the capital city.

Some members of the gang were nabbed when trying to break into a container.

A statement by the Command Spokesman, Maryam Yusuf, revealed that the suspects included a 19-year old ex-convict, Shaban Abubakar.

Exhibits recovered from them, according to the statement, include  two  iron cutter, one iron bar, one axe, one rope and wallet containing counterfeit currency notes.

In a related development, Police operatives from Life-Camp Division also arrested 61-year old Emmanuel Idowu  and two others along Dappe, Life-Camp axis during a routine patrol for being in possession  of illegal firearms while one of the suspects, Bright Effiong, was arrested with dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp.

Some other suspects were arrested for peddling drugs at Kado-Biko axis of Gwarinpa.

All the suspects, the statement noted, will be arraigned in court upon conclusion of investigation.

The Command, therefore, called on residents of the FCT to report all suspicious movements, emergency or distress through 08032003913, 08061581938, 07057337653 and 08028940883.
