
The Nigeria Police Force has launched mobile banking application for its Microfinance Bank.
The application was created by the financial institution to provide services for both serving and retired police officers and the general banking public.
While launching the App, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu, said that the NPF microfinance Bank Plc was set up to provide financial services such as retail banking, loans, advances and financial advisory and other allied services to the men and officers of the Force and the general banking public.
The IGP disclosed that the bank commenced operation on May, 19, 1993 from a single branch but due to its management’s resilience, it has expanded its network of branches to 35 across Nigeria.
The Police boss also noted that banking is rapidly evolving technologically and in the vision for the establishment of the microfinance bank there is also need for a mobile banking application to meet customers’ needs.
According to him: “The main goal of this mobile banking application is to reduce delay in transactions and improve operational efficiencies. A mobile banking application ‘ll no doubt improve interactions with customers, deliver their needs speedily and also provide ways for making internal functions more efficient”
IGP Adamu commended the Chairman and members of the Board of Directors of the NPFMFB and all others whose team work and dedication informed the success of the modern banking tool launch witnessed by Police personnel and the public.
The IGP also encouraged the officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force both serving and retired and the general banking public to take advantage of the technological innovation by the bank adding that there is limitless possibilities on the mobile banking tool.
