Operatives of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Police Command, have arrested a notorious ‘one-chance’ armed robber that is linked to the murder of Alhaji Suleiman Danjuma, a Director in the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation, Abuja.
‘One-chance’ robbers usually pose as commercial vehicle operators who deceive their unsuspecting passengers and later steal from them or harm them before throwing the victims of their vehicles or eventually killing them.
The director was killed sometime in March 2020.
A statement by the FCT Police Command signed by its Spokesperson, Mariam Yusuf (ASP), disclosed that the killer, “one Udogu Chidi, 34 years old, was arrested by detectives of  the Command’s Anti-One Chance section somewhere along Zuba axis of the FCT during routine patrol”.
According to the statement, preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect belonged to a three-man ‘one-chance’ robbery syndicate.
He has since confessed his involvement in the crime and other criminal activities.
On his arrest, some exhibits including  one gold colour Mercedes Benz c230, were recovered from him.
The suspect, according to the Command, will be arraigned in court upon conclusion of investigation.
This is even as two other members of the syndicate have since been convicted and sentenced to jail.
The Command urged residents  of the FCT to report all suspicious movements, emergency or distress, through  08032003913, 08061581938, 07057337653.
