Police debunks reports of killings in Abuja community

The Commissioner of Police (CP) in charge of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Babaji Sunday,  has  said that there were no killings going on in any community in the FCT, Abuja.
He, therefore, said that the rumours making the rounds that there was killing of people going in Kuchibena community in the capital territory was with bad intention.
According to a statement issued by the Command’s Spokesperson, DSP  Josephine Adeh, the CP insisted that the community is safe for all residents to live and do their lawful businesses.
The CP gave the affirmation following Police preliminary investigations into media reports that four persons were gruesomely murdered by suspected cultists in Kuchibena. 
While noting that the command has commenced discreet investigations into the report, the CP, however confirmed that as at the time of issuing this statement, no such incident was reported in Kuchibena Community or anywhere in the FCT. 
CP Sunday therefore, enjoined members of the public particularly, residents of Kuchibena community to be calm and go about their lawful endeavours as the Police is committed to ensuring no crime or threat to their safety thrives.
He further called on the residents of thei area and indeed, the entire FCT to report promptly any criminal act to any Police Station nearest to them. 
The CP called on media practitioners and social media users to always verify their reports before making them public, especially ones capable of causing unnecessary fear and apprehension in the country.
