Nasarawa State Police Command has confirmed the kidnap of the Special Adviser to the State Governor on Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Community Development, Mr. John Mamman.
The State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr. Ramhan Nansel, in a telephone interview with our correspondent in Lafia said Mr John Mamman was abducted in his country home at Dari in Kokona Local Government Area of the state on Saturday night.
He said unknown gunmen numbering more than ten stormed the Special Adviser’s house and began to shoot sporadically into the air before whisking him to an unknown destination.
Mr. Ramhan Nansel stated that the Nasarawa State Police Commissioner, Mr Bola Longe, has directed the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Garaku and the Area Commander to mobilise and comb the bush to ensure the Special Adviser was recovered unhurt.
Meanwhile, the stakeholders in Kokona, according to a source are worried over the special adviser’s health condition who was said to be suffering from a partial stroke.
The source said all the Gwandara elders sat anxiously in Garaku expecting communication from the SA’s kidnappers to know his state of health and whereabouts.
