The former Chairman of Delta State Board of Internal Revenue and candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Isoko for House of Representatives in the last elections, Hon. Joel Onowakpo, has donated palliatives to over 4,000 families in Isoko areas of the State.
The items, which include 4,000 bags of rice (50kg); 4,000 bags of beans; gallons of cooking oil, cartons of noodles and other foodstuff, were presented by the Chairman of Onowakpo Support Group, Pastor Silas Buowe to the Executive Chairman of Isoko South Local Government Council, Hon. Constantine Ikpokpo and his Isoko North counterpart, Hon.Emmanuel Egbabo.
In a brief speech, Pst. Silas said JOT, as the donor is fondly called by his admirers, felt the pain of the people and thought there was no better time to support them.
He commended the people of the two local government areas for their total compliance with the State government directives to prevent the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, urging them to continue stay safe that the virus is real.
Responding on behalf of the two council areas, the Chairman of Isoko South, Hon. Ikpokpo thanked and prayed God to bless Hon. Joel Onowakpo-Thomas.
According to him over 4,000 families will benefit from this kind gesture. He equally called on other public-spirited persons across Isoko land to emulate Joel-Onowakpo.
The short ceremony was attended by councillors from the two council areas.
