The Commandant, Mr. Mahmud Gidado Fari, disclosed on Monday during the parade that the NSCDC operatives arrested the suspects following discreet intelligence and information gathering.
The suspected criminals, he explained, were arrested for varying crimes at various locations.
Mahmud Fari added that one of the arrested criminal was an ex-convict, who is a well-known notorious armed robber in Makurdi.
According to him, among the seven suspects, one of them was arrested for attempted murder.
“We were alerted that there is a young man who was threatening to killed his mother, on reaching the house he attempted to escape. However, luck ran out of him as our operatives had already surrounded the area, hence, he was arrested.
“As a lawful organisation, the suspects will be arraigned in court for prosecution,” he said.
Responding to questions from the journalists, the commandant, further assured that his command will not relent in its efforts to rid Nasarawa state from criminals through intense vigilance, especially within the state capital.
