The survival of the 21st century micro, small and medium scale enterprises (MSMES) is largely dependent on the adoption of digital technologies, National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has posited.
The agency’s Director-General (DG), Kashifu Inuwa, stressed this on Wednesday in Abuja while delivering a keynote address at the 10th edition of the Abuja enterprise agency (AEA) business 360 clinic.
The event which espoused the theme: Technology Utilisation and Innovation: It’s effect on SME Profitability and Productivity, and in which the NITDA boss was represented by the Acting National Coordinator, Office for Nigerian Digital Innovation, Mr Yakubu Musa, urged SMEs to focus on progress rather than elusive perfection by deploying digital technology to tasks.
“Technology utilisation exerts a significant impact on the economic survival of nations, particularly in today’s high technology market where technological innovations are rapid and disruptive”, NITDA emphasized.
Kashifu Inuwa again seized the opportunity of this event to harp on the need for useful collaborations and enumerated some of the ministries, departments, agencies and some private sector bodies NITDA has be collaborating with in it’s avowal to instill digital knowledge and culture in the people.
Earlier, the CEO of AEA, Mallam Shehu Abdulqadir, is his welcome address described the theme as apt because it is hinged on the digital technology adaptation and it’s profitability to SMEs.
