Nigeria is to receive 176,000 doses of Johnson and Johnson (J&J) COVID-19 vaccines, thr Federal Government announced on Tuesday.

It also disclosed that the doses are meant for persons who live in hard-to-reach areas so that they can be given single shots of the vaccines and get full vaccinated instead of other vaccine types that require two doses at separate times.

The Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), Dr. Faisal Shuaib, said Nigeria also expects to receive 700,000 doses of AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines.

This is expected to enable those who have received their first jab to get their second dose, he added.
