A Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), Women Friendly Initiative (WFI), has called for the implementation of the National guidelines for adolescent and youth-friendly services in Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs).
The Chief Executive Officer of the NGO, Dr. Francis Eremutha, made the call in a one day workshop in Lafia, on Monday.
Represented by the Project Coordinator, Rosemary Adejoh, the Chief Executive Officer, appealed to the federal government to implement the National Guidelines that was launched in 2013.
He further pointed out that that both Mental Health and Social issues are challenges that bedeviled the progress of most youths in the country.
According to him, providing health services to adolescent and other young people is a sensitive issue that needed to be addressed urgently.
The programme was attended by over 30 participants drawn health agencies in the state.
