The new Executive Management of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF), headed by Managing Director/Chief Executive, Dr. Michael Akabogu, has approved pending staff promotions, with a promise to ensure that staff welfare remains on the front burner of the organisation’s operations.

Addressing staff members at the headquarters of the Fund in Abuja, Dr. Akabogu, note that a happy workforce was essential for a more vibrant corporate entity.

He thanked the staff for the support his management has so far received, expressing gratitude especially for adhering to the dress code prescribed in line with the new drive towards repositioning the Fund and enhancing public perception.

He added that his team was well appraised of the challenges facing the Fund and was equipped and poised to surmount them, especially since for the first time, the management team of the Fund has been harnessed from within.

In her remark, the Executive Director of Administration, Mrs. Maureen Allagoa, stated promotion letters for deserving staff members had been released to them, explaining that “like in all examinations, there are bound to be successes and failures”.

She however, said that the Management made some extraordinary concessions in evaluating the process that gave rise to the results amongst which were, the effect of the COVID-19 lockdown and the psychological weight that came with it.

While congratulating the Staff that were promoted, she called on them to put in more efforts for the advancement of the Employees Compensation Scheme (ECS).

It would be recalled that the NSITF management conducted a hitch-free staff promotion examination in February 2021 in line with Covid-19 protocols to ensure that deserving staff were properly motivated and elevated through an open, free, fair and transparent assessment procedure.

In addition, the new management introduced high ethical standards in the work environment and in service delivery.

Furthermore, Management has also succeeded in blocking financial leakages despite paucity of funds and has promised to consistently pay staff salaries and allowances, in order to boost morale of staff.
