The Nasarawa state Bureau for Information Communication Technology (BICT), says it is drawing up plans for 25 percent automation operation for civil servants in the State.
The Director General of the Bureau for information communication technology, Shehu Ibrahim, made this known in Lafia.
He said that the BICT was in synergy with the office of the Head of Civil Service for intense training which will be a new vista for all civil servants in the state to be abraced with ICT that can enhance productivity ,transparency and accountability in governance.
Mallam Shehu however, explained that currently, the center was faced with a challenges fuelled by the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The CBT center basically is about training, but with the COVID -19, a lot of our programs have been put on hold.
“Our libraries, which work hand in hand with the state ministry of education, the closed down of schools, we have also closed down our libraries,” Shehu lamented.
The DG commended the State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, for his drive towards ensuring that ICT is institutionalized in the operations of government activities in the state.
He added that the development is a positive proof of the governor’s quest to exceeding all expectation.
