Nasarawa State has recorded an index case of Covid-19, a lady from Kokona Local Government Area of State.
The State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, announced that the lady has been evacuated from Kokona to Lafia for treatment while her family members are also isolated as their tests are being carried out.
He said that other cases of suspected persons whose samples were earlier collected for testing have come out negative.
Nonetheless, in the aftermath of the latest development, the Governor announced that testing centers would be constructed in four local government areas – Keffi, Karu, Akwanga and Lafia.
According to him, the centers will be in addition to the already existing ones in most of the General Hospitals in the State.
