Nasarawa Covid-19 cases hit 25, with 1 death

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state has announced 12 new confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the State.

He made the announcement on Friday, in Lafia, the state capital.

The Governor stated that with the new cases, the state now has a total of 25 Covid-19 cases in the state. One death, has, however, been recorded.

According to him, samples of 78 persons were earlier collected and 20 have been received so far. Four out of the number have been confirmed positive to Covid-19.

Most of the samples collected have direct contact with the State lawmaker who died recently.

Governor Sule further explained that some of the lawmakers whose samples were also collected have returned and that from the result, they tested negative.

According to him: “With the rising cases of the Covid-19 in the state, the initial three-day lockdown pronounced on Nasarawa local government for ease of contact tracing will be extended by another three days for the purpose of tracing more of those who have had contact with the late State Assembly member.”

Engr Sule added that the health team had been engaged in contact tracing at Doma, Karu, Awe, Lafia and Keffi local governments areas of the State.
