The National Coordinator, Center for Peace and Environmental Justice (CEPEJ), Chief Sheriff Mulade has commended President Buhari for approving the N75 billion Nigerian Youth Investment Fund (NYIF).
The fund would be deployed for the development of innovative and creative youths in Nigeria.
Mulade who charged youth in the Niger Delta region to take advantage of the fund, advised creative young Nigerians to seize the opportunity to develop themselves and grow the nation’s economy by developing buyable proposals for growth.
He urged them to make themselves available, develop materials and tap into the resources in order to grow their businesses and resources.
He also urged the Federal Government, Ministry of Youth and Sports Development and the team entrusted with the responsibility to manage the funds to be diligent and accountable in handling the funds.
Chief Mulade also charged the office not be biased in the selection and approval of qualified youths for the provision of funds for development.
The N75 billion fund was approved by President Muhammadu Buhari for the youth between the ages of 18 and 35, who have genuine business ideas for self and creative development.
Those eligible are expected to develop a proposal and pitch their ideas in any of the approved 125 micro- finance banks across the country and qualified candidates would have access to the funds to grow their businesses and innovative technologies and aspects of capital development.
