There have been mixed feelings among residents of Nasarawa State over the dethronement of the former Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, and his subsequent banishment to Awe, a remote area in the State.
While some residents of Awe are happy that bringing the former Emir to live with them will attract investment, others however, expressed sadness that a prominent Nigerian of Sanusi’s calibre could be humiliated in that manner.
The former Emir of Kano arrived Loko, in Nasarawa state in the early hours of Tuesday at precisely 3:00am. He was received by the Emir of Loko, Alhaji Abubakar Sabo.
He, was, however, flown in a helicopter from Loko to Awe Local Government Area in the Southern District of Nasarawa state.
Sources at the corridor of power in Nasarawa State confided in Expressday, that the dethroned Emir was flown out of Loko because of lack of basic infrastructure in the area.
