Former President of the Senate, Senator David Mark has commiserated with the Government and people of Rivers State over the sudden death of Mr. Simeon Nwakaudu, the Special Adviser on Media to Governor Nyesom Wike.

Senator Mark in a condolence message to Wike and the bereaved family said, the news of the death of Nwakaudu was a rude shock to him.

The condolence message made available to ExpressDay by Mark’s media adviser, Paul Mumeh, said the former Senate President noted that late Nwakaudu was a vibrant journalist and noble media manager who put the interest and wellbeing of the nation above anything else.

Senator Mark said he knew Nwakaudu over 20 years ago when the latter served as the Correspondent of the Guardian Newspapers in Benue State, pointing out that he distinguished himself as a responsible, diligent and patriotic journalist.

According to Mark: “Nwakaudu was one Journalist I respected his views because he never compromised fairness, balance and objectivity in his editorial judgments.

“It is heart rending that he departed at this time. He was a good man and a friend indeed. His death is a personal loss to me”.

Senator Mark, however, counseled Wike and the immediate family of the deceased to take solace in the fact that Nwakaudu lived an exemplary life worthy of emulation and left his indelible footprint in the sand of time.

He prayed for God to grants the deceased eternal rest and the bereaved the fortitude to bear the loss.
