The Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State, Mr. Philip Tatari Shekwo, who was kidnapped on Saturday night has been found dead.
Sources close to the family disclosed that the lifeless body of the former party chairman was found in the bushes, few metres away from his residence.
It would be recalled that gunmen stormed Shekwo’s residence near Dunamis Church, Bukan Sidi in Lafia, the state capital, on Saturday night around 11pm and took him away.
The police commissioner in Nasarawa State, Bola Longe, who confirmed the kidnapped to journalists early Sunday had assured them that police personnel were making efforts to rescue the party chief.
“We have covered everywhere, we sent our police to comb everywhere. We have done all the necessary things to ensure that he is rescued and by the grace of God, he will be rescued,” Longe had said before the latest discovery.
