The All Progressives Congress (APC) Primary Election Committee has announced Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu as the winner of Edo governorship primary election.
Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma, who doubles as the committee chairman, made the announcement in Benin City today.
According to him, other aspirants had stepped down ahead of the conduct of the primary election, making the exercise just a mere formality.
Governor Uzodinma added that the conduct of the primary was in accordance with the guidelines of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Ize-Iyamu contested the Edo governorship election in 2016 on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), but lost to the incumbent, Governor Godwin Obaseki, of the APC, but who has now moved to the PDP.
