Reputable community leader and electrical engineer, Peter Otaru Umosor, has assured  the people of Etsako-Central local government area (LGA) of Edo State of his preparedness to actualize their yearning for development if he becomes the next Executive Chairman of the local government.
Speaking with ExpressDay Newspaper on Saturday in Iyuku,  the Iraokor-born Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC)  posited that his aspiration is an idea whose time has come given his patience, leadership acumen, and kindred spirit.
“I love my people of Ekperi, Avhianwu, South Uneme and Okhugbe Clan  and have always seized every opportunity to render assistance in the area of school fees, scholarship for indigent students and provision of bore holes for some communities”, he said.
Continuing, Umosor added that “even on Oyakhamo street, in Ibie where I live , I have dug a bore hole that have stopped the suffering of neighbours with regard to clean water”.
“I have combed the whole of my local government in the course of my career as an electrical engineer. I know the people and the people know me. I have been available to them and been providing support in my private capacity. Now I would like to further the provision of grass root leadership and accompanying development as the next local government Chairman”.
“During the time of Emma Momoh as local government Chairman, Tony Omolua was made the secretary to the local government and since then I’ve been patiently waiting. Now the point must be made that I’ve remained committed and loyal.
“All through those period that Charles Esiesimua was elected as vice chairman and died just after six months in office and his Son was brought in to complete his tenure, I’ve remained a dedicated contributor to the cause of alleviating the sufferings of my people and growing the structure of ACN which has now metamorphosed into APC.
On the equilibrium of thought and the timeliness of his quest, Peter Otaru Umosor said the notable leaders of APC in the local government would easily support him to become the next local government Chairman because of his contribution over the years.
“I m from Ward 5, Zone 4, Iraokor, in Etsako Central. Our recognized leaders today are General Alfred Ilogho, John Akpogun, Blessing Agbomere, Joseph Ugheoke, Johnny Oghuma, and musical icon Benji Igbadumhe. We have all enjoyed unity in the pursuit of better life for our people and they are aware of the fact that I’m inbued with tenacity of purpose.
Asked to give specific details of how he will create employment for the teeming unemployed youths in the area, the Chairmanship Aspirant said,  “I’m an entrepreneur myself and I know how to create employment. I will collaborate with private companies to create employment. My government will generously invest in farming. I will make sure we provide farming aid and tools”
The entrepreneur turned politician also drew from the holy Bible to buttress his quest thus: “Psalm 102:13, Job 9:10, talk about the right time. The time for encompassing development of Etsako-Central has come. The time of ward 5 has come. My time has come”, Umosor enthused.
