Frontline aspirant on the platform of Labour Party,!Olumide Apata, says the persuasion to deploy his skills and opportunities to the giving of Edo People a better life is his reason for joining the race.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with ExpressDay during the marriage ceremony of Adams Oshiomhole’s son on Saturday, the former President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) said, “I intend to merge my experience with the potentialities of the heart beat of the Nation to give my people a better life”.
A galaxy of beautiful people filled the BMO events venue of the wedding reception of Stephen Oshiomhole and his Bride, Emerita. Politicians, Diplomats, ranking government functionaries graced the occasion.
One striking feature of the occasion was that politicians made deft moves to market themselves to the many political leaders of Edo State who were present at the event.
“Oshiomhole is popular and it’s an opportunity for governorship aspirants to sell themselves”, the reporter overheard many guests saying.
Apata said he is waitiing with bathed breath for the primaries to come and go so he will begin to actuate his blueprint for the development of Edo State.
Some of the dignitaries who graced the occasion are, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume; Minister of Niger Delta Development, Abubakar Momoh; former Presidents of the Nigerian Labour Congress, (NLC), Hassan Sumonu, Abdulwaheed Omar, Ayuba Wabba, Senate Leader, Opeyemi Bamidele who stood in for the Senate President.
