Housewife, Mrs Grace Tenkumor has cried out and petitioned the Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba, Attorney General of Federation and other security agencies following allegations that her husband, Mr. Patrick Tenkumor has sold the only family building they stay to Winner’s Church pastor, aka living faith.
The building, according to her, houses three, two bedroom flats and one self-contain which she said was being forcefully taken from them by Winner’s church pastor on the ground that her husband whom she said left her with her children over a year has sold the house to the church without their knowledge.
But her husband, Mr. Patrick Tenkemor when contacted on telephone, has declined statement on the issue, saying that it is his private issue and would not speak on it since the matter is already in the court and cannot make any comment.
Narrating her ordeal, Mrs. Tenkumor, who is presently squatting in a bedsitter room with her children in Warri said the whole thing started last year when the rumour came that her husband had made plans to sell their only family house to Winner’s church pastor and they engaged the services of a lawyer.
She said “while the issue is still in the court, on Thursday 18th August, 2022, men of the Nigerian police with guns came to our matrimonial home with a strict order at about 6am in the morning, threw all our property out that the house has been sold to Winner’s church.
She said: “When I noticed it was police I came out to confront them to know what was going on, there l was told that Winner’s church has acquired the building. And I said it cannot happened that this is our matrimonial home we built and packed in decades ago, and I said my husband cannot sell the only house we had.
“Then the Winner’s church pastor came and said the house has been sold to the church since last year and I have to call my son inlaw in Lagos about the development, and he promised to see the founder of the Winner’s Chapel aka Living Faith Church, Pastor David Oyedepo through letter but several attempts made by him were frustrated by the workers in the church.
“My daughter who is heavy and came from Lagos to deliver, as I speak to you now I don’t know where she is because the whole thing happened in her presence, when everything we had was being taken away by the police, the Winner’s church pastor came to drive us from our home.
“Even when the police said they were given order to throw us out from the house, there was nothing they could show as white paper given to them and when we went to several customary courts to inquire where our load and clothes were taken to, none of the court agreed our property were taken to their court.
“I am calling on the Inspector General of Police, IGP, Attorney General and other security agents to come to our aide. This is a marriage of forty years ago, so where are we going to go to have a roof to cover us when Winner church had claimed possession of our family house and we just roaming around the streets of Warri as if we do not have a home.”
All attempt to reach the head of the church in Delta state, Pastor Obama through calls and text messages failed as they were not responded to.
