The Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, has clarified that, contrary to rumours making the rounds in the state, his aide, Haruna Sani and two other women who died recently, did not die as a result of COVID-19.
He made the clarification at an emergency stakeholders meeting yesterday, in Lafia, where he announced that the State had recorded 177 confirmed cases.
He, however, noted that the continuous increase of the COVID-19 cases in the state was becoming alarming.
Explaining how his close aide died recently, Governor Sule reiterated that his dead and that of two other women were not associated with COVID-19.
“I want to explain this especially to the press against the news making the round about the death of two mothers who also died recently,” he said.
According to him, those who are under quarantine and are to be isolated are 30.
He equally revealed that 87 people have been successfully managed and discharged.
Governor Sule, however, regretted that the state has so far lost 7 persons as a result of the disease.
He revealed that the local governments with the high risk of the disease include Karu which has 100 cases and Keffi with 30 cases.
According to him, Wamba, Keana and Toto local governments have not recorded any case.
