Nasarawa State Governor,  Engr. Abdullahi Sule,  has tasked security agencies operating in the State on the need to sustain the successes recently recorded in the effort to fight banditry and kidnappings in Toto Local Government Area.

Sule stated this during an expanded security meeting in Lafia, Tuesday.

While commending the security agents, especially the military supported by the police, the Civil Defence and Department of State Services over the recent dislodgement of terrorists in Toto LGA, as well as the capture of over 400 members of their families, the Governor pointed out that there was need to sustain the successes so far recorded.

According to the Governor,  recording such feat was one thing and sustaining it is another.

He  disclosed that the reason for the meeting was to ensure that the administration sustained those successes already recorded.

Sule used the opportunity of the meeting to commend President Muhammadu Buhari for the support given to the security agencies which led to the successes thus achieved.

The Governor equally condoled with the officers and men of the Federal Roads Safety Corps (FRSC) over the recent incident leading to the demise of two officers.

He  took time also to update the people of the State on efforts to contain further spread of the coronavirus pandemic.

The Governor expressed appreciation to members of the security council  for their continued support, stressing that while more tests are being conducted, Nasarawa continued to record less positive cases of the pandemic.

Sule expressed satisfaction that with the fall in number of positive cases, the people of the State are beginning to take measures to protect themselves against COVID-19.
