Leading telecommunications firm, Globacom, has introduced Sponsored Data service, a toll free data service which enables companies buy data buckets and allow their existing and prospective customers access to their websites, apps and other data services without having to expend their own data.

The sponsoring companies cover the cost of access.

Globacom in a statement on Thursday, explained that the Glo sponsored data is free for the end users and has no impact on their existing data bundles.

According to the company, Glo Sponsored Data service “is a more targeted and effective method of inducing trial of the sponsoring company’s digital products as well as free trial and free sampling of its contents.

“Other benefits include a better return on investment (ROI), over 70% increase in customer engagement, incremental revenue which engaging new customers will give through the free access to organizations like betting companies, IT & Technology, Manufacturing industries, banks, schools and others.

“Staff of the sponsoring companies who are on the Glo network can also benefit from the sponsored data plans”, the company added.

The sponsored data buckets come in multiple ranges from 200GB to 50TB to address the numerous needs of sponsoring companies.

Globacom said the plans, which are valid for 30 days and are already available on the network and will increase the brand perception of the sponsoring companies.
