Future Assured, a pet project championed by the wife of the President, Mrs Aisha Muhammadu Buhari, has donated food items to 52 vulnerable groups in Bauchi State.

The donation of the food items is part of her ongoing humanitarian activities which she has been engaging across states of the federation since the past few months.

Represented by the Wife of the Bauchi State Governor, Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohammed, Mrs Buhari reiterated her passion to the welfare of the less privileged in the country.

Speaking to the beneficiaries on behalf of the First Lady, Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohammed said: “The mother of the nation is passionate about the less privileged and does not discriminate amongst the poor as religious, ethnic and other diverse groups have benefitted from the distribution of the food items which covered the 20 Local Government Areas of the State”.

Commenting, the leader of the Christian Association of Nigerian (CAN) Women wing, Mrs. Hassana Harkila, applauded Mrs . Buhari for the kind gesture.

According to her: “The impact of the kind gesture by the Nigerian First Lady is very significant at a time like this when the poor needed it the most.”

On his part, speaking on behalf of the Muslim beneficiaries, Mallam Mas’ud Suleiman, assured the First Lady that the food items will reach the intended beneficiaries.

A statement by the Special Assistant to the President on Media & Publicity, (Office of the First Lady), Aliyu Abdullahi, noted that the food items distributed included hundreds of 50kg bags of rice, cartons of spaghetti and gallons of vegetable oil.
