The Wife of the President, Aisha Muhammadu Buhari, has distributed hair dryers to women in Benue State.
The items which were distributed through her pet project- The Future Assured – were aimed at empowering the women.
She advised the beneficiaries to be self reliant and use the items for the benefit of their families.
Represented by Special Assistant to the President on Domestic Affairs and Event Management, Mrs. Zainab Ikaz-Kassim, the wife of the President reiterated the relevance of being self-reliance to mothers, noting that the hair dryers will help newcomers start new hair styling businesses and help existing hair stylists grow their business.
Both newcomers and professionals benefitted from the distribution.
Speaking, the First Lady of Benue State, Mrs. Eunice Ortom, applauded the wife of the president for donating the items and urged the beneficiaries to use the items judiciously.
A statement by the Special Assistant to the President on Media & Publicity (Office of the First Lady), Aliyu Abdullahi, disclosed that the Future Assured team also delivered maternity packages including assorted baby care products to new mothers at Federal Medical Centre, and Bishop Murray Medical Centre, both in Makurdi.
