First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, on Thursday donated a total of N14.3 million to help alleviate their pains of victims of flood that ravaged the popular TradeMore Estate, Lugbe in Abuja.
She handed cheques of N250,000.00 to each of the 57 affected households, courtesy of her pet project, Renewed Hope Initiative.
Mrs. Tinubu, who was represented at hr cheque presentation ceremony by the wife of the Vice-President, Hajia Nana Shettima, expressed her sympathy over the unfortunate incident.
She said though there was no assurance that this kind of incident would not reoccur, since the rains are not yet over, she hoped the outreach and intervention of the Renewed Hope Initiative would go a long way in reducing their pains at this time.
The First Lady said, though the Initiative was still in the process of registration by the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), she could turn the other eye under the present circumstances of the TradeMore Estate which is in her domain.
In his response on behalf of the beneficiaries, Chairman of the Residents Association of the Estate, Dr. Adewale Adenaike thanked the First Lady and the Renewed Hope Initiative for the kind gesture and support extended to them.
