Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, on Tuesday flagged off the construction of a 15.5-kilometer rural road at Sisimbaki, in Wamba Local Government Area of the State.
The flag-off ceremony was part of the governor’s promise he made to the people when he was sworn in as Governor a year ago.
The road construction projects have so far gulped N1.2billion, which represents almost 70% of the total sum of the contract.
The governor also flagged off the construction of another 15-kilometer road at Kagbu, Mada station in Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Area.
Sule, who expressed satisfaction with the pace of work, disclosed that it was aimed at easing the burden of transportation for the residents of the areas who are largely farmers.
“We embarked on rural roads at this early period of the administration in order to open up opportunity for investors who are interested in agribusiness,” he said.
Earlier, governor Sule had commissioned two projects at his home town of Gudi Station in Akwanga LGA.
The projects included a 10-block classrooms and a market comprising of 63 shops, which were all constructed in the first one year of the administration.
