Several persons have been arraigned in the Federal Capital
Territory (FCT) for violating guidelines requiring the mandatory use of face masks.
Those arraigned on Sunday by the FCT Mobile Courts at the Eagle Square, Abuja, were accused of violating the social gathering and face mask rules during the Christmas festivities.
The FCT Minister, Mallam Muhammad Bello, had last Tuesday, issued new guidelines to curtail the spread of Covid-19 following the second wave of the pandemic in the country.
“Enforcement teams have been mandated to carry out the arrest of violators and prosecute them through the mobile courts system,” he had said.
