Popular philanthropist and leading contender for the position of Executive Chairman of Etsako-West local government area (LGA) of Edo State, Clement Igbafe Afekhena has again matched words with action in his quest to eradicate poverty in the area and contribute to subjugating illiteracy in Edo State.
Official reports made available to ExpressDay Newspaper on Tuesday in Iyuku-Uzairue disclosed that chairs, tables and other hands-on learning materials have arrived the LGA for onward distribution to secondary schools.
The report as signed by Clement himself stated in part, “Today, we took delivery of some of the chairs and desks that the Clement Igbafe Foundation will be donating to selected schools across Etsako West.
“For too long, I have seen some of our children sit on bare floors, lean on broken desks, or struggle to share a single chair in classrooms that should inspire them.
No child should have to learn in discomfort. No dream should be limited because the basics of learning are denied.
“It is my firm belief that when a child sits comfortably, listens attentively, and learns freely, the seed of greatness is planted.
A good learning environment is not luxury but a foundation of the future we all desire.
“This donation is only a step, but it is a step in the right direction: giving our children dignity, comfort, and hope as they pursue knowledge”.
When ExpressDay sought the opinion of some people in the area, they affirmed that the aspirant is someone who philanthropy has endured and who deserves to be supported to get into an elective office.
“Apart from donating chairs to schools, Clement is giving us free Medicare tomorrow and installing agro factory in Iyuku on September 28. Igbafe is the Chairman we want”, Rosemary Sede an Elele grassroot politician said.
