The Executive Chairman, Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State, Hon. (Pharm) Victor Ofobrukueta, yesterday, bagged an award of excellence from the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) Ethiope East Chapter following his contribution to education in the local government.
The NUT Chairman had also used the medium to thank the Chairman for the donation of Generator set to the Ethiope East Chapter of the NUT and prayed to God to continue to protect him to do more for the people as he takes him to greater height.
Presenting the award, the NUT Chairman, Mr. Adu Isaac Enajite said the award is in recognition of his role and contribution towards education in the local government area, adding that his good deed is all over the nook and cranny of the entire area.
Enajite emphasized that the council chairman, Hon. Ofobrukueta’s yearly distribution of writing materials to 86 primary and secondary schools has been on before he assumed office as chairman and has not relented since he resumed office, saying that Ethiope East are impressed with this landmark in promoting education in the area.
He said education will be of great importance to the people if individuals and Non Governmental Organizations would emulate Ofobrukueta’s kind gesture in this direction, adding that he is one man that has shown serious commitment to the education of the pupils in the local government.
Responding, Hon. Ofobrukueta commended the NUT Chairman, Mr. Adu Isaac Enajite for finding him worthy of the award, stating that his administration will always ensure that the people are his priority at all times despite the financial challenges the local government is passing through.
Ofobrukueta pointed out that he wouldn’t have been where he is today without education, saying that he will always, whether in office or out of office, ensure he contributes his quota to education, adding that tomorrow they may be governors and presidents of this country.
Speaking further, he said, “l will always do my best for our children as they are the leaders of tomorrow. Nobody knows who will be governor or president tomorrow, hence we have to contribute as much as we can to see that our children get the best of education.
“I want to also use this medium to thank all our teachers for their great job, because managing children is a big task and seeing that the children are doing greatly, is an indication that the teachers are doing so well and l want to appeal to them not to relent in their efforts to give the pupils quality education and also support the more Agenda of the Oborevwor’si led administration.”
