As the nation continues to seek solutions to the worsening insecurity that flowed from the #EndSARS protests, President Muhammadu Buhari today convened a rare meeting with former Nigerian leaders.
While Buhari presided from the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, Generals Yakubu Gowon, Olusegun Obasanjo, Ibrahim Babangida, Abdulsalami Abubakar, as well as Goodluck Jonathan and Ernest Shonekan participated via teleconference from their homes.
Those physically present at the Council Chambers with the President include Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Secretary to Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha and Chief of Staff to the President, Professor Ibrahim Gambari and National Security Adviser, Major General Babagana Monguno.
Others include the Chief of Defence Staff, General Gabriel Olanisakin, Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu; Director-General, Department of State Services, Yusuf Bichi and Director-General, National Intelligence Agency, Ahmed Rufai.
Yesterday, the President presided over the National Security Council at the Presidential Villa, Abuja and later addressed the nation in a live broadcast.
