Former Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Elder Simon Achuba, has felicitated with Muslims across the country on this year’s celebration of Eid-el-Fitr.

In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Akor Sylvester, the former deputy governor urged Muslim faithful in Kogi State and the country at large to extend the spiritual benefits of Ramadan, which are love, peace and justice to their daily living as part of their spiritual contributions to the development of the nation.

He said the celebration came at a time when the world is battling with the challenges posed by Coronavirus pandemic, urging both Muslim and Christian faithful not to be discouraged at this trying period.

Elder Achuba enjoined Nigerians to be strong in prayers, maintaining that the present challenges would soon be a thing of the past.

The former Deputy Governor commended Nigerian Muslims for their sacrifices and prayers for the nation and their decision to celebrate in their homes as a result of the present situation in the country.

He harped on the need to be united at all times and pursue a common goal for the development of the country.

Achuba further charged all Muslims and Nigerians to use the celebration for sober reflection and pray for peace, unity and progress of the nation.

He said any nation that builds it’s tent on prayers and trust in God would never fail, urging Nigerians to hold on to their faith in God in everything they do.
