Following a spectacular outing penultimate week in the United Kingdom (UK), Ehizoya Golden Entertainment (EGE) acwill this weekend showcase Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage with it’s 9th edition of Nollywood film festival in Germany and NEGA awards.
This is promise kept as the CEO of EGE and Frankfort-based cultural ambassador, Isaac Izoya, had exclusively reeled out to ExpressDay in March this year.
This year’s event will further cement diplomatic ties between Africa’s largest Nation and all of Europe.
Official reports made available to ExpressDay reveal that film screening took place yesterday in Goethe University, Pupille Kino, Frankfurt Germany while live concerts, awards and gala night will take place this Saturday.
Cynthia Agholor, a dexterous actress and the coordinator of the festival and awards in Nigeria spoke to ExpressDay from Germany on Friday, saying that “what we have brought from Nigeria through the United Kingdom and now Germany is simply a recalibration of marketing strategy that has the potentiality of attracting foreign direct investment. We are helping the government and someone ought to praise us for it.”
Investigation reveals that Ehizoya entertainment has been focused in packaging Nigerian cultural items ( sculpture, film, music) for export and has acquired reputation as such.
Findings further reveal that Ambassador Isaac Izoya may have been influenced by the “rich cultural heritage”of Edo, his nativity.
Solomon Obomighie is the Executive Chairman of Etsako Central local government area (LGA) of Edo State.
He has this to say about the importance of the festival: “I must commend Ehizoya for adding value to our work as government. Nothing best showcases Nigeria to the world today more than Nollywood, and maybe, Music. We have just inaugurated a film village here in Etsako Central, in appreciation of the importance of arts and culture in overall development”.
Those who won awards in UK include the Managing Director of the Nigerian Film Corporation (NFC), Ali Nuhu, and Cynthia Agholor.
