The Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire, the management and the entire staff of the Ministry, have expressed sadness over the demise of a former Minister of Health, Dr. Haliru Alhassan.
The former minister was said to have died on May 10, 2020, aged 66, after a brief illness.
A statement signed by the Director Information, Media & Public Relations, of the ministry, Olujimi Oyetomi, said: “The Minister, Management and Staff express our deep sympathy and condolence to the family and friends of the late Dr. Haliru Alhassan who served as the Minister of Health between March, 2015 and May, 2015.
“The late Dr. Haliru Alhassan who hailed from Sokoto State also served as the Minister of State for Health between February, 2014 and May, 2015.
“Dr. Haliru Alhassan attended the Medical University, Plovdiv, Bulgaria between 1982 and 1988 before proceeding to study for a Masters’ Degree in Tropical Paediatrics at Liverpool school of Tropical Medicine from 1994 to 1995.
“May Allah grant him Aljannatil Firdaus.”
