Chairman of the Economic and Financial Commission (EFCC), Abdulrasheed Bawa, is due to return to work at his desk on Thursday hale and hearty after a scary health emergency hours earlier duringnan an official function at the Aso Rock Villa.
A terse statement by Wilson Uwujaren, Head of Media and Publicity Unit at EFCC, made on Thursday, said Bawa had received medical attention and is due back at his desk.
Bawa felt unwell while delivering a speech at the event and was immediately taken out by his aides and medical personnel to avert a tragedy.
He has excused himself from speaking further and returned to his seat where other dignitaries and aides gathered to attend to him.
Uwujaren’s statement read in part: “This clarification became necessary following an incident today September 16, 2021 at the Presidential Villa, Abuja where he was giving a goodwill message to the National Identity Day celebration, felt unwell and had to return to his seat.
“He has since received medical attention and is due back at his desk”.
